How does Crime Stoppers work?
Persons who furnish information leading to the arrest
or indictment of criminal offenders,
or to the capture of fugitives are offered anonymity and cash rewards.
The Greenwood County Sheriff's office receive and process information
through a special Crime Stoppers telephone.
To insure anonymity, each caller uses a code word (name) instead of
submitting their real name.
A reward payoff is made by non law enforcement personnel to protect the
identity of the caller. All rewards of up to $1,000.00 are paid in CASH. Reward amounts vary and are
determined by the board of directors. |
